ELEKTROFORM is a family-run, mid-sized business specializing in electroplating and electroforming with nickel.

Providing Winning Solutions

For more than 40 years, ELEKTROFORM has been developing tailor-made surface solutions that combine durability, precision, and performance.

The company’s first major success came with Renault, when ELEKTROFORM created a special nickel coating called ElNiSil. This innovation made Formula-1 engines more resistant to wear and helped Renault win the World Championship — proving how powerful high-grade nickel coatings can be.

Today, ELEKTROFORM remains a leading expert in advanced nickel technologies, offering customized electroformed coatings such as High-Grade Nickel, MIKRO-Nickel™, Bright Nickel, Nickel-Cobalt, and Nickel-Phosphorus.
Unlike conventional electroless nickel coatings (which are only about 0.1 mm thick), ELEKTROFORM’s electroformed layers can reach up to 10 mm — enabling outstanding mechanical and chemical performance.

These coatings are used in many ways, including:

  • Protection against corrosion and abrasion in harsh environments (oil, gas, marine, food, and chemical industries)

  • High-precision replication of micro- and nanostructured surfaces

  • Ultra-smooth, amorphous nickel layers that can be diamond-machined to a surface roughness below 2 nanometers

  • Repair and restoration of worn or damaged industrial components — avoiding costly part replacements

  • Decorative and artistic purposes, such as sculptures exposed to outdoor weather

Serving Micro-System Technology Markets

ELEKTROFORM is a global market leader in supplying thick nickel-phosphorus coatings for the micro-system technology sector.

Applications that demand nanometric precision — such as aspheric and freeform optics, microlens arrays, and other high-precision components — require extremely accurate molds during production.

ELEKTROFORM’s thick nickel-phosphorus coatings can be single-point diamond turned, ground, or milled on ultra-precision diamond machining systems, making them ideal as inserts for micro-injection molding and other advanced manufacturing processes.
